I've finished my second day at this contract job and I guess they're pretty happy with me. The work isn't that exciting but the people and circumstances are kind of interesting. I'm supporting a software update project for a chain of leisure centers in London. The work isn't difficult but there are a lot fiddly details to remember. Plus the PC's aren't in a consistent state so you're never quite sure what problems maybe luriking...

Today, I was working in an old building in Hackney...apparently, it used to be the public baths...anyway, I met this pretty Lithuanian girl who I thought was Polish at first....but I digress....

It's a 2 week contract, the pay isn't anywhere near what I used to get and the transport costs are HUGE! But I'm back working, meeting folks and maybe even solving a few problems here and there...
