Anson Funderburgh & Sweet Sam Myers
This is Sweet Sam Myers, he was a friend of the family. My father has a book coming out in October about him. Sam was a real Bluesman from Mississippi and was a great man. He was suffering from throat cancer and was recieving treatments in the last year or so. He had been in the hospital for the past few months and was getting alot better. We were all so proud of his progress and were glad to see the cancer to be gone.
Sam had finally gone home last week and my dad and I visited with Sam before we saw Wes Jeans on saturday night in Deep Ellum since he doesn't live far from Live Oak.
Sadly Sam passed away on monday from some messed up complications. He had his laranyx taken out like many cancer patients do when lung cancer is an issue.
Anyhow the funeral was today and it was very sad, but very beautiful. My dad spoke at one part when they asked if anyone had anything to say. He did a great job, I was very proud of him. This book of his is going to be great! Three years is a long time to work on one project and the site www. SweetSamMyers.Com is his other project he did that I am so proud of.

Mike Judge will be one of the pall bearers at the funeral in Mississippi. He was there in the Ole days when he played bass for Anson. Anson is the one in the picture above. Little trivia for ya: Beavis/Buttheads hair is fashioned over Anson Funnerburghs hair. Funny huh? Texans know that Mike Judge is from Texas originally. That man is real sweet being there for Sam. I'm glad alot of other people were there for him too and remembered him through the years and didn't forget him.
