A work friend of mine, a rock photographer to be exact, asked me at 6.15 tonight if I wanted to go with him to see a band I had not heard boo from since 1996, Nada Surf.
Not one to decline an offer of free stuff (did I mention I love free stuff?) I went along.
Finding my misplaced glasses before the gig was a huge bonus which saved me some money on a taxi fare. On arrival I listened to an old friend of mines band Gersey.as usual the ratio of women to men was 1:10 but hey shoegazing has never really been a womans world. The gig all in all was ok. As expected Nada Surf kept their hit popular as the 3rd in their 5 song on-core (it has always been a mystery to me how you spell that word!) Loads of dudes were there with hardcore band t-shirts on which really surprised me.but hey whose to judge. According to some guy in the crowd there were only 100 payers in the 400 something thick crowd, which when I come to think of it doesnt surprise me since all the people I talked to seemed to be there on comps. But hey. I havent been to a gig which has really really inspired me in such a long time..
So here is the question from me.. what is the last gig that made you go whoa yeah & blew you away?

PS thanks for being so welcoming....reptar it's nice to see you've got your name back
