Here at home we have 5 pets, I know, that's a lot... There are 3 cats and 2 very spoiled dogs.
All of them were adopted, including one of the dogs with only 3 legs, he was run over when he still belonged to his previous owner, she was an animal hoarder.
We generally rescue from shelters and abuse. Our pitbull was adopted, she suffered a lot and they wanted to sell her for breeding or dogfighting.
Now they are very loved and spoiled, they all sleep (yes, all 5 of them) in bed with us and are always where we are.
Cats are very fearful, we've tried walking with them on a leash and it was a disaster, so we respect that their space is only inside the house, unlike dogs who love to ride in the car, go into the woods and run around.
