Here is a hasty update:
Happy st. Patricks day. disclaimer: although St. Patrick was anti slavery, and a very interesting historical figure, I can't fully endorse his day, since to me it represents the beginning of the catholic/christian invasion.
Here's a poem, atributed to a person called "Gan Anim", which means no name, without name, aka anon. who is said to have lived sometime between c.900-1000. the translation is by David Green and Frank O'connor, and it's published in:"An Leabhar Mr, the great book of gaelic"
Is acher in gaith in-nocht,
[since tonight the wind is high]
Fo-fasna fairrge findholt;
[THe sea's white mne a fury,]
N gusr rimm mora mind
[I need not fear the hordes of Hell]
Dond laechraid lainn Lothlind
[Coursing the Irish Channel]

I'm 3/8ths Irish ancestry on the side that counts (we're a matralinial matriarchy!) and I'm a closet celtophile, though I'll deny it ardently if pressed.
We,of Course, are going to Flux, our local fetish goth night. So we are presented the problem of encorporating green into one's Goth/fetish type attire.
I've decided to wear a light green terry housedress I have. It's not very Goth, but ti's ALMOST retro.... although I'm worried that it might suggest a geriatric fetish.....hehehehe.
Plus I have new shoes....weeble and bob: SHoes....
I'm reading Kushiel's Avatar, by Jaquiline Carey, the third in a series, and although it's quite good, it's not quite as good as the first, although that's not really fair to say until the end.
THis one goes more into the religious mythology... Interesting, but there's less straight BDSM in this one... so far.
edited to add, and damn if the downstairs neighbors aren't screaming swears at each other at the top of their lungs. God that's unpleasant. Poor fucking kids.
