Hey boys & babes 🙋
I haven't been as active on here lately bc I've been in a bit of a funk, so here's another little blog to get my juices flowing again! @missy @rambo @lyxzen
David Robert Mitchell's 'It Follows' is unlike any other horror film I've seen. Its absence of in-your-face images & typical themes is really refreshing. The idea that this curse is passed along to an innocent through the most intimate of acts, unbeknownst to the victim, is much more terrifying to me than any slasher villain.
The cinematography is eerily comforting, and the blur of characteristics from various eras really captivates. You can't put your finger on what makes this dismally dreamy Detroit setting so familiar.
Lastly, the soundtrack is FUCKING RAD. Disasterpeace nailed the composition, telling the story of an all American girl's worst nightmare personified without a single word! Very 80's synth heavy, yet reminiscent of campy 60's horror films. Definitely something I'll be spinning on vinyl.
If you haven't seen this yet, what the hell are you waiting for?!
XO 😘
