Good morning SG Land 🙋
@missy @rambo & @lyxzen are curious about our current gaming addictions. I figured this would be the perfect time to review my newest purchase Crimes & Punishments: Sherlock Holmes!
I'm on case #3 after playing it for 2 days and I have to say, it's pretty addictive! If I didn't get nauseated from the graphics (I need new glasses), I'd probably be even further along. I can play it for a maybe 2 hours at a time before my eyes need a rest 😫 Like I've said before, I'm really into detective games (L.A. Noire & The Wolf Among Us are faves). This one is unique in the way that you literally connect your thoughts to form deductions. When you find a concrete clue, a synapse forms, which you later connect with others according to your findings. It's really cool! It's pretty true to the characters and time period, which I love about these kinds of games. You travel by horse-drawn carriage & reference your archives, form chemical solutions, etc. it's a multi-faceted game for sure!
As for the downsides, I get a little annoyed at having to go back & forth from scene to scene in order to solve a case. Traveling consists of a loading screen where you (Holmes) sit inside the carriage reading. Loading is a bit lengthy on this one. Also, I sometimes find myself wandering around looking for complex clues where there are none. Example: I was walking around a railroad for 20 minutes when all I needed to do was look at a road sign 😒
Overall, I dig it but I expected it to be a bit more action packed. Any thoughts on this one?
