Boardwalk Empire (HBO): BEST. SHOW. EVER. 😍 Terrence Winter struck gold with this one. Even Martin Scorcese (Executive Producer) lent it his magic touch. Set in early 1920's Atlantic City, Boardwalk follows the life & times of Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson; upstanding city treasurer by day, ruthless bootlegger by night. This show is incredibly true to its time period, which I especially love since I'm from Jersey! The cinematography, if not the incredible cast (led by Steve Buscemi) will blow your mind. If you haven't checked this out, you're fucking up!
The Knick (Cinemax): When I bought the fifth & final season of Boardwalk, I received a 2-episode sample of Steven Soderbergh's The Knick, starring Clive Owen. The show takes place in early 1900's New York, following the emergence of modern medicine and the inevitable trial & error that contributed to even the simplest of discoveries. Our protagonist, Dr. Thackery (Owen), stuck in a cocaine-fueled haze when not leading the medical team at his hospital following his close colleague's suicide, must overcome not only his own demons, but those of the industry as well. Not finished with this series yet, but I'm hooked!
Last but not least, my favorite comedy EVER because of how downright inappropriate it is on EVERY level... 😂😭😂😭
Workaholics!!! My man got me into it about 2 years ago & I swear those are the most-watched DVDs we own. I never get tired of all the crazy shenanigans & we can pretty much quote every episode 😝 I really wish I worked @ TelAmeriCorp with these dudes, they get away with all kinds of crazy shit! The Ders is my spirit animal & this show is totally tight butthole 👌
