Hi everyone! And I decided to do my first homework! Haha, this will be an interesting experience.
To begin with, I'm a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland (Posted by Lewis Carroll).
I have 2 tattoos on my body based on this book - the Cheshire cat with a cup (a reference to the crazy tea party) and the crying Alice, who wears the mask of the forever smiling Cheshire cat. The Alice tattoo makes a lot of sense to me. I did it during the period when I was being treated for severe depression and did not know at all that I would become an SG model. For me, in this tattoo, Alice is me, and in my difficult period I put on a smile so as not to hurt my loved ones who see how bad I am. And that was indeed the case. But everything is already in the past, I have passed this difficult path and now I breathe deeply! And this tattoo is a reminder that EVERYTHING CAN BE OVERCOMED.
In addition, in my life I have taken a very serious step. I have officially changed my name! At birth I was named Violetta, but I hated that name terribly. And since I have been a fan of Alice in Wonderland since childhood, I decided that this is the name I will wear for the rest of my life.
Now on to the main topic, why do I like this book so much?
The fact is that when you read it in childhood, strange situations amuse you, emotions from what Alice had to endure on her way. But when I re-read it as an adult (about 2 years ago, when I was 21), I realized that it makes much more sense than it initially seemed.
It creates an allusion to the transition from childhood to adulthood. Alice becomes uncomfortable in her own body, which undergoes a series of cardinal changes - her self-consciousness is destabilized, forcing her to doubt who she is, Alice comes into conflict with the powers that be and tries to understand the seemingly arbitrary rules, the games people play around, and even death.
Naturally, as people grow up, they have more experiences, both good and bad, and now let's talk about bad experiences. Drugs. Of course, a caterpillar that smokes a hookah is exactly what you need, especially if it sits on the cap of a magic mushroom. How can you not think about what you just thought, right?
But at any age, I will believe in a single meaning: that Carroll is trying to convey to readers a simple idea that it is necessary to believe in miracles. Without them, life loses its meaning. Everything becomes monotonous and gray. There is also the idea that it is necessary to have and set a goal. The goal to strive for, despite all the obstacles and circumstances. And my favorite thing is that you need to constantly believe in yourself and in your strengths. Only this faith will help to achieve the set goal.
And in the photo is my first book since childhood, my mother also read it! This book is already 30 years old! And the last one - in a new cover, with a new translation. I have 7 books in total. Why do I buy them? I do not know. I really want to collect the most interesting editions of this book!
Thank you very much for reading! I really hope that you were interested! Have you read Alice in Wonderland? What can you say about this book?
