Jiminy Cricket is dead.. it's in your hands now..
Reminder: You are what you've done, not what people see of you.
It seems that for the most part, we've given up on moral self critique. Asking ourselves what's right or wrong, and instead we let our company be the judge. As a civilization, It's morally OK to do what the people you're around don't scold you for. It's morally OK to do hurtful and wrong things, when only we know that we've done them.
Wrong. The weight of your actions carry forth the person that they birth. A new you, with every decision that you make. I don't believe in good people and bad people. Only countless tiny decisions reflected on a canvas. A self portrait composed of mistakes, and good deeds.
A common misconstruction of these things, is that it's difficult to be what is generally accepted as a "good person." That couldn't be farther from the truth. Every action is preceded by a choice. A choice flashed so fast, and so minute that you're not even aware that it's being made. A sequence of scales based on past consequence and gain. Will this benefit me? Will this harm me? Followed by will this benefit those I care for? Will this harm those I care for? After that comes who will know of it? How will it effect those who do?
Make it simple. Cut and dry. Lead your life in a way that carries no burden of hidden hurt towards others. Try your best. Avoid situations that merit you shame, and that hurt you and yours. Don't be a dick. Be honest, and life forever with the freedom that honesty entails. Give a compliment. Crack a smile. Go to bed happy, that you've made the best of what you were given.
These simple things, and common knowledge, are the cleverly crafted and well hidden secrets of life.
No matter your maker, be it God, Grass or Science. You're the only one who wears your choices. No one can justify them but you
