i love late night drives through the city; watching the neighborhoods change every couple of blocks, seeing parts of la i've never seen before, discovering new restaurants and stores i'd like to go to sometime, not being stuck in traffic....
i took he little fluxmeister with me. he often accompanies me on my late night explorations. he just sits on my lap....
me, flux, and the breeders cd...
i don't know exactly where i ended up, but i was 20 miles away from home using the roads instead of the stupid freeway. it's so great to actually see the city, even if most things are closed. los angeles is so big, and there are so many parts that i have never seen, parts that are actually sort of beautiful in their own way. i want to know this city inside and out. the drives help clear my mind a little from all the little distractions constantly floating through my brain....
but then of course on my way back home i get high beamed twice for no apparent reason, drive right next to or behind some assumingly drunk people as well as people who don't understand that the lines painted on the road mean you're supposed to stay inside them, get tailgaited by a taxi cab when there is obviously a car right in front of me and i can't go any faster, and watch real stupid people who think that a red light means go even when there's opposing traffic. and i am reminded that i live in la.
