Ooo, pretty colors on my page...
Tymme's been off work for the past two days, so it's been all wine and roses in Alialand. Tuesday, he had to take his car into the shop and ended up stranded at his mom's church where she works. So he took her car and came and picked me up. His mom, who is SUCH a sweetheart, took us out to lunch. Then he and I walked down to the park, where we wandered around for over three hours. I got a tan line on my shoulders. We wandered around and kissed and talked about kids and things like that. It was great, aside from the fact that he has caught the godawful killer cold that I had. His mom came and picked us up at the park and we went over to his house. He cooked me dinner and we fell asleep watching Jerry McGuire. His mom woke us up and had Tymme take me home so I could go to bed and get over the last bit of this cold (it's like having another mom). We spent a couple hours in bed. Then I worked up the courage to call my mom and tell her about the engagement. And her reaction was completely different from what I expected. She was so happy! She even offered to help me pay off my school!
I was beyond surprised. She's going to be in Indiana for a conference on the 13th, so he and I are driving down there to meet her. It's going to be cool. Plus, my grandparents are having their 50th wedding anniversary in Texas this summer. So Tymme and I are going to take our vacation time and get a rental car and drive down there. My mom's even going to pay for our hotel room! Wow. I am absolutely dumbfounded.
Yesterday, we hung around the dorm room before going to pick up his car, which runs sooo much better now. We went out to dinner at TGI Friday's and then came back here to, uh, "hang out" some more. My roommate came back after awhile so we decided to go for a drive. We ended up in Paris, Illinois before we decided to turn back. We stopped at a Walmart on the way in and played in the toy aisle. I harassed the hell out of the poor guy. Chased him up and down the aisles with a rubber chicken and beat him with a Funnoodle.
We went back to the car and called my roommate Ellen on his cellphone and left crazy messages on the machine. Then we drove back into town and stopped by the apartment to visit my future roommates Rachel and Crystal. We sat around and talked and smoked and laughed for a couple hours. It was great. I can't wait to move in there.
Then he took me back to my dorm and we sat in the parking lot in his car and talked for two hours. Got out all our sad stories of past relationships. Told secrets. That kind of thing. And just talked and cuddled. It was so wonderful. He had been really quiet at the apartment, and so we talked a bit about that. And he said the thing that stands out the clearest in my head when I remember last night. "The reality of the situation finally hit me. Rachel and Crystal see us for what we are (getting married). And it really hit me. I kept thinking 'She's going to be my wife. My wife.'"
I'm so in love with this man.
