Today I woke up at 1...and went back to sleep. Then I woke up to my alarm at 2, and went back to sleep. I finally got up at 230 and i was still tired despite my 10 hours of sleep.
Since it's nice out we prop the door to the store open to let the breeze in. It's sort of a tease really. I can see how beautiful it is out and get the occaisonal breeze, but I'm trapped in the store and can't go enjoy any of it.
I was tired of the radio station today, so I switched it over to The Edge. They play a lot of of the dancy indie rock and a nice variety of rock, punk, and yes even hardcore. So yeah we were breaking the rules, but Simon nor me cared. No that was not meant to sound rebelious, but what happened throughout the day was what amused me most.
There was a little old man who came into the store and he was looking for components for some sort of project he was working on. Hot Hot Heat's "Talk To Me, Dance With Me" started to play, and halfway through the song I look over and see this little old man shaking his bum and moved into doinog a little dance while he looked at fuses. It made my day.
I also had a woman who was quite upset about her cordless phone and was being very abrasive. Bright Eyes came on and she was tapping her finger on the counter in time to the music. "What are you guys listening to?"
"It's one of the radio stations that you can get with Star Choice, it's called The Edge." I kept fidling with her phone trying to figure out the problem.
"Oh, do you know what's playing now? I like it."
"I'm not sure which song it is, but the band is called Bright Eyes." At this point she took the pen from the counter and wrote Bright Eyes down on a scrap of paper. The phone was defective so I replaced it, but I swear it was Bright Eyes that calmed her down and made her pleasent to deal with.
