My son has converted me friom the 400 meter circle track to a footpath at the local college. It's 14 miles round trip so it's perfect for Marathon training. It has markers every 1/4 mile so it's easy to control distance, lots of short rolling hills for reality. Working toward the '12 Marine Corp Marathon. Probably will train at 10K[6-1/4 miles] for a few months before I push the full course.
French wine grapes are flourishing this year, short rains and lots of hot sun, they still think their in the South of France. The Merlots have been in the ground for 5 years now and are loaded. Under best conditions they will produce 8000 # per acre, don't really need that much wine, and I'm a hardcore white wino myself. Probably will try white merlot first. My favorite remains Chardanay, but they need a few more years for the vines to mature.
My running binge has forced me back to eating correctly. Strictly fish and raw veggies, laying off the carbs and fat as much as possible. That's why I don't think I'll ever make it to full vegan. it takes way too many carbs to get enough protein and soy is just too processed to be good for you. Soy is just loaded with estrogen, too much even for women, let alone men. Trying to stay with whole unprocessed foods, if it comes in a box, I don't eat it.
Hope everybody's weekend is going well, eat your veggies.
