Thank-you everyone for the birthday wishes. 58 now still running 5 miles a day and working out 5 times a week on the home gym. I refuse to give up without a fight. Not as fast as I used to be, but I can still do a sub 6 minute mile if I need to. Still thinking about another marathon, but that requires a 15 mile training distance, and I have a long ways to go to get there. Can be done tho, I still remember 27 years ago when that 80 year old man passed me at the 20 mile point. He beat me by 5 minutes.
Mostly been working in my vineyard and gardens, trying to be as organic as possible, but the bugs are gettin' stronger every year. This year was the commissioning of a permanent herb garden, basic Italian French stuff. Most herbs are annual so they reseed themselves if you leave a few plants to flower. The Rosemary is a tropical evergreen, so I have to dig them up and let them live in my gym under the grow lights. A little rain everyday and hot sun makes the French grapes think they are at home in Dijon. I try to make them happy, so they will make me happy in the Fall.
I think I'm going to have to get a small bee hive, the honey bees were nearly absent this year and everything needs them for pollination. The bumble bees and wasps are not quite enough as they are lazy compared to a honey worker.
The stock market has been kind as long as I watch it closely. Investments are not self running and never ever trust someone else to do you investing. Just read and watch and avoid the greed temptation. Be ready to get out and move on when things appear high and wait for a new low to climb back on. Very simple if you don't let greed make stupid mistakes. Waiting too long to get out has killed many a plan.
Life is good, never will have all I want, and thats a good thing.
