Tho my retirement plan went south with the global economy, this has been a pretty good year personally. I've all of a sudden become quite urbanized tho I still live in the hills of Upper East Tennessee[ don't say northeast, it'll hurt peoples feelings]. Voted for O, listen to Amy Winehouse, Bob Sinclar, and Rafael Saadiq continuously. I've learned to love Detroit, always loved New Orleans, and Paris is my favorite place on Earth. My closest Sister and my in laws can actually talk without inciting major social upheaval. Actually where my sister lives in PA, it makes rural Tennessee look urban.
Foul weather here lately, so the big running plans have slowed to a random trot. I hope to get out tomorrow and get 5 or 6 miles in. I got my hoodie, long sweats and wooly mittens all ready. Do they make running shoes with mud and snow tread, maybe even studded? If I bust my butt it doesn't heal as fast as it used to. The worst part about Winter running is that the feminine scenery is not nearly as pleasant or motivational. Chasing a road goddess at a comfortable visual distance always makes the training so much more bearable. If nothing else it clarifies the only good reason to stay in shape.
My 15 year old likes to run with me [actually ahead of me most of the time] tho he hasn't been afflicted with the need for road scenery quite yet. The other day he told his mother that he was going to wait until he was out of high school before he has a girlfriend, "Mom they're just too goofy and changeable now". I wonder how long that will last, I doubt he'll make it to college before he discovers a strong need for the feminine mystique. An occasional infatuation is good for anyone, even for my old bones, as long as it doesn't get complicated and involve Madam's Smith & Wesson.
Washed the car twice Sunday, to get it squeeky clean. Of course Karma dictates rain today, to punish materialism.

"They're just too goofy and changeable now". Hahaha. Does that ever change? Maybe in our 30's or so . . . or never??
