So I have had a crazy couple of days, my first set comes out tomorrow and I am so excited and nervous, I hope it goes well, you have all been so great to me and I really appreciate it. It's nice to hear such nice things.
I have been in Buffalo the last couple of days, I went to a show last night, it was Cobra Starship and 3OH3 at Town Ballroom (Buffalo) with openers I Fight Dragons, and Travis McCoy. My friend and I were actually there with my daughter, her favorite band is 3OH3 and this was her first concert. She immediately made friends with some girls her age and left her godfather and I just standing there, waiting to see these bands that we didn't know anything about, really, except maybe 3OH3 who we both thought was decent. The doors opened at 6pm and the majority of the crowd was 8-16 year old girls, which we kind of thought odd considering the music, we wondered how they felt about having 12 year old groupies. They probably have to check ID's,lol. We had a couple beers while we waited for the first band to come out. They were a band called "I fight dragons" and I hadn't heard of them before.
The band consists of:
Lead vocalist/guitarist Brian Mazzaferri
keyboardist Bill Prokopow
bassist Hari Rao
singer Laura Green and
drummer Chad Van Dahm
and packy?(I hope that's right) who I think is mostly electronic.............
The first thing we really noticed was their energy together. They looked on stage not only as if they were in love with their music, but with each other. They were so young and full of life and positive energy, fresh ideas, still humble and not road-wary, that is where most great music has always come from really. They do have a gimick that is catchy and interesting, they use NES sounds in a synthesized fashion as a form of music, they use the powerglove, and the powerpad, and controllers, and they have it rigged to synthesize the different commands, and they do it really well. They have dules with the different sounds, they have spent a lot of time and dedication to creating their own FORM of music, it's pretty genies really. My friend friend and I were dancing and really getting down, and when we looked up we realized we were really the only people dancing and that a bunch of teenage girls waiting to see a headliner aren't going to give a fuck about the opener , no matter how great they are. I am secretly in love with them all, but she's is super sexy, Laura, such a lovely girl, living in a land of boys. She remarked to me that she had just gotten done altering her dress herself about 5 min before they went on stage, what a remarkable young woman. And to see her on stage, she has so much force to her. And the boys are all stunning as well, I could have run away with them, lol. I included a link to their homepage and some of their music, check them out, and Cobra Starship and 3OH3. I met the bass player from 3OH3 , Cam, he was a sexy sexy little thing. And I saw some amazing tats there, the Latin words are I Fight Dragon's tour manager's.[
Somebody spilled my drink all over my feet and that was the worst part of the night. I had an awesome time, I was old there, really old, but I do appreciate new fresh music every once in a while................
Oh, and Cam from 3OH3, he's from Denver, he was really sweet and talked about his girlfriend back home, what a nice boy, but so sexy, I would love to corrupt him, but I'm sure he's got some secrets too, bass players are usually pretty bad boys in my experience,
More pics to come, and tomorrow my set goes LIVE!!! AAAHHH!!! so excited!! And check out IFD, Please lots and lots..............
