Okay so it's time for me to be pissed off. Now I don't normally get pissed off but today I really am. Let me tell you all a story.
I'm at work today and I get a phone call from my Ex. The story between me and my ex is a rather long one and I'm not going to go into the details. Suffice it to say that we still live together (along with her mother and her sister) and we are on good terms. (Actually the proper thing to say would be that they live with me since I provide a majority of the income.)
Anways, my ex calls me today, and asks me if I'm planning on buying a new car. Now, I'm annoyed by this, because while I was looking up vehicles on the internet the other day I hadn't told anyone about it. I am of course NOT looking at purchasing a new car but that is besides the point. At this point I wanted to know why I was being put to the question about this subject. This is the answer I got.
Apparently her mother was "browsing" the net history on the computer. She "saw" that someone had been visiting auto-buying and selling websites. She "assumed" it was me. Then she called my Ex and told her that I was surfing a lot of car sites, and was probably going to buy a new car. And that she should clear her money out of our bank account before I ran off with it all.
Because of this, I am extremely mad. I don't feel that it's any of her business researching what I was looking up on the web. Furthermore if she does violate that first guideline, I think she should at least have the courtesy to talk to me about it first. And beyond even that, if she is going to talk to someone else, she should refrain from making WILD accusations.
To be honest I don't even know how to deal with this situation. How do you tell someone that what they are doing is wrong when they know damn well that what they are doing is wrong? I'd rather not be disrespectful, and I'd rather not be an asshole. Mainly because that's not the kind of person I am, and even more because I'd be doing the same kind of thing that was being done to me.
So far all I've done is reduce the web browser to not having a history, and furthermore making it dump whatever history it has whenever the browser is closed. I hate having to do this but I deserve some sort of privacy.
Right now I feel violated, and disrespected. I feel like I'm being treated like a criminal in my own home.
