Didn't have as much time this weekend as I'd hoped too. I had planned on writing something yesterday, but unfortunately my plans changed on the fly. Consequently the thing I wanted to write about before has now been put on the back burner.
What has happened to the concept of martyrdom? Why is it that now every time someone makes a willing sacrifice they are called a martyr? Not in such a way as to empower them, but in such a way as to say that they are doing only for self-serving reasons. What emotion lies behind these actions that causes us to look at what was once such a noble title in such a disgraceful way?
Are we just jealous of those people who have the strength to defy reason and sacrifice themselves? Or are we just scared of what that might imply about ourselves?
Use me, I am willing
But you will find that I am infinite.
Abuse me, I am defenseless
But you will find that I am enduring.
Betray me, I am naive
But you will find that I am forgiving.
Hate me, I am ready
But you will find that I only love.
Lean on me, I am strong
And know that I will never be broken.
Each of us makes decisions every day in which we make sacrifices for the betterment of others. At the same time we must also be aware of the sacrifices made by others. We exist together, not as individuals.

Yo Obi Wan. My good friend Elysia is talking smack about the greatest Jedi of all time in her posting. It would be a kick for all if you defended yourself. I already did my part.
