Well, this week certainly has been awesome.
I started off Monday getting ready for my first ever scuba class. I was excited and nervous at the same time, but we managed to get everything together and into the water. And I gotta tell ya, the rush of taking my first breaths underwater energized me in a way Ive never felt before. It certainly was a rush. Even on Wednesday, I couldnt do it without feeling a thrill. Pool was a little crowded on Monday, as the organization was also running an Intro class that day, but I managed to have more fun on the Wednesday, when we took to the deep end to work out a couple of more advanced techniques, such as replacing out masks and knowing the feeling of running out of air. (Panic monger that I am, I may have made the motion a little too early, but things still turned out well.) Cant wait till next week to do it again.
Today was also amazing, as I finally had my job interview with Target. One of the areas theyre moving into was once a Zellers in a mall not too far away from where I lived. I was a little nervous, because I dont take the idea of doing interviews very well. But I have to say that I was pretty comfortable doing it, to the point where I only had to do two of the three scheduled interviews. I take it as a good sign, given the fact that both of the people I was interviewed by were impressed with my answers to their questions and the breadth of my activities and work experience. By the end of next week, I could be employed again. (Though not back to work right away, given that the store isnt going to be open until October/November. I will be getting trained, though, which is good.)
Got a package in the mail from Pesky this week. Thanks again for that.
Looking foward to a number of things in September. I didn't get chosen to be part of West Coast Geeks versus Nerds opening debate, though I was selected to be the first alternate (meaning if anyone on the teams drop out, I'm the first person contacted to replace them). I'll just have to look ahead to October and try out for them.
Can't think of anything else to say, so I'd better wrap up. My love to you all.
