This is a poem I wrote a couple of months ago after a friend of mine passed away. The original version had the name of the deceased included towards the end, but I'm withholding the name of the person for personal reasons this time. I was dealing with a lot of grief at the time, and writing it helped a great deal.
Our time on Earth
Forever fleeting,
We spend our lives
Always seeking
Friendship and love
And closeness and being,
To create special moments
We will forever be seeing.
You touched all of us
In ways many and deep,
Creating memories
That we always will keep.
In this way,
You will never be gone.
Forever and always,
Your memory will live on.
Our time on Earth
Forever fleeting,
We spend our lives
Always seeking
Friendship and love
And closeness and being,
To create special moments
We will forever be seeing.
You touched all of us
In ways many and deep,
Creating memories
That we always will keep.
In this way,
You will never be gone.
Forever and always,
Your memory will live on.
