Off today. After this post I am going to try hard to avoid computers for remainder of the weekend. Too much time in front of them at work and then at home working on kool konfabulator widget application that will tie-in to my webstore. Listening to new Chitlin' Fooks CD. Chitlin' Fooks is a side project by Bettie Serveert's Carol Van Dyk and Pascal Deweze. Very much influenced by 70s era alt.folkies like Flying Burrito Bros, but interpreted by the Dutch Ms. Van Dyk and Belgian Deweze. Their first album was fun but tentative--they really gel on this one. I met Carol when they played last year at the Mercury Lounge--that was a thrill (she's one of my favorites). Also picked up just out live performance Norah Jones DVD--great sound recording. If you have a good sound system with your dvd player this will sound incredible. Ms. Jones is great but she's a little weak on the between-song patter. But that's okay. Soon she'll be as smooth as Sammy Davis Jr. Yikes! Also listened to klassic kinks CD (Arthur--Or The Decline and Fall of the British Empire)--great stuff. Davies has such an interesting voice. Thanks to Suicide Girl Cherry for posting in my last entry. Every time a suicide girl posts to my journal a kitten gets a second chance.
