First off - Happy Valentines Day
and it's time for a legitimate update, as I've been elusive the past few weeks... heck maybe even months. So I owe this to you guys.
5 things I want to share with you:
1. I'm going to let you know my real name.
Everyone advises against letting people know my real name. I find it silly because A. If you know me in person as a lot of members do, you call me by my real name. B. If you find me on myspace or any of the links below, you'll know my real name anyways. C. If knowing my first name somehow makes me stalkable, then realize that if you did some research from blogs/myspace you'd know I live in South Philly, work in Jersey as a graphic designer and I'm not that hard to find because I'm pretty damn sociable. Showing up at my door where the live-in boyfriend, the pit bull, and the 9mm reside is not recommended and I don't think anyone would be foolish enough to attempt it. Sending me a message saying 'Hey I'll be at X bar at Y location, want to meet up for a drink?' is much more effective.
That said: My name is Charmaine. My mother named me after a character in Space 1999. Specifically - A Matter of Balance - Episode Number: 39 - Season Num: 2 - which aired in 1976 (I guess I was a rerun).
2. I joined WMMR's 93.3's Bod Squad -
I was sad I couldn't put Hall and Oates and my favorite band! Being in the Bod Squad means that I get paid to participate in events like '2007: Vag Project', an annual event that releases an inflatable doll into the atmosphere of snowy windy Philadelphia. Whomever find the coveted doll wins a pretty kick ass Vday prize of $2000 pair of earrings from Stephen Singer.
3. Another project I've been involved in is Inked Inc. Dave Kimelberg (who is a lawyer/photographer) started a site showing professionals who work corporate jobs but also embrace their bodyart, like myself. It shows that your lawyer, doctor, dentist, accountant, may not be who they appear to be. He photographed me wearing corporate work gear and then street clothes, my friend Jesse said that I look more asian than normal which I found amusing. Scroll to find me in here: Inked Inc.
4. If you want to find me on myspace, you can look here: Myspace Page
5. Last but not least, random updates. Today I will be spending Valentine's Day with 10 of our closest friends on top and around us for LOST and whiskey. I bought a 42" plasma tv for the occasion, and upgrading the cable box to HD has left us with a third of the channels and no internet for the week. Thanks comcast! Jack Frost has been nipping at my teet, it's slushy, slippery, and chilly outside and I'll close with a open ended question like 'Why didn't they plow 95!! It's an interstate highway!?". Right?? Why?
xo me
p.s. Next journal will include new hair and tattoo pics! wee!
