i got myself all bent out of shape today at work. seriously. it was awful. haha
1. i get there, and there are 15 roles of APS film due at 2pm (we open at 9:30), and 218 digital prints to be made. APS film has to be hand-loaded in the dark room. our machine can only develop 2 rolls at a time, which means i had to go into the dark room, manually take the film out of the canister, put it into a holder, then put them in the machine. they take 11 minutes to develop each. so i kept running in and out of the darkroom
2. we were actually pretty busy today, considering it poured all day long. which means, i couldnt do half of the shit i needed to in the lab in a timely manner because i kept having to deal with customers.
3. in the middle of printing the pictures (we do individual density and color corrections per print), i had a lady who is a professional figures skater (she's like 60?) come in. she likes to talk, and rambles on and on. she wanted 3 5x7s of these pictures made from a negative, and then one scanned and digitally made 2 5x7s of. so, i had to bust ass to get those done asap while she waited, while i was printing the APS, which meant changing a certain mechanism in the printer so that it was able to hold the 35mm film again (blablabla technical stuff). then i had to run into the dark room and change the paper so that it was matte to do a one hour i had gotten during all of this craziness
4. i actually finished 15 rolls by 2 (a fucking MIRACLE). so, at like 2:30, i still havent sat down or stopped running around all day. then the machine beeped at me and said it was out of developer. so what do i do? grab developer, and water, and put it in the STABILIZER TANK. FUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCK. that's really bad bad bad bad. so i freak out, shut the machine off at the circuit breaker so that none of it gets pumped into the actual tank, and syphon out everything. thankfully, after syphoning and cleaning it a bunch of times it was fine, nothing got contaminated.
5. then i decided i wanted to die
6. then i almost cried
7. then my boss and her grand daughter came in
8. then i went home
haha. i'm lame. i'm procrastinating. i dont feel like reading. i still kind of have a headache. hopefully tomorrow wont be as crazy so i can just relax a little bit. tonight looks like movie watching, and maybe a phone call from someone who is hotttt later... teehee
