Ok , so i'm a crazy bio student. But riddle me this: when eating raw oysters it is imparative that you keep them alive until you are ready to shuck/prepare them. Does this mean if you eat a freshly shucked raw oyster that it is still alive?! Whoa. That's weird. If not, then when in the process does the oyster die? I don't see why the act of shucking it would kill it, at least not immediately.
I'm now having second thoughts about $1 oyster happy hour on friday.
