out here there are so many japanese noodle houses that i don't ever have to buy the instant kind, but i survived a whole summer in college on ramen and refried beans.
last week I drove down to Las Vegas to catch a Martin Sexton concert (which I missed, & ended up in a grimy hotel room paying almost 300 dollars for a rather half-hearted hand-job--but that's another story entirely) & on my way out of town I stopped at grocery store that seemed to cater almost entirely to a Hispanic & Asian clientelle, with the end-result that I came home with a lot of Goya products, & several Ramen bowls.
upon inspection, once home, the bowls turned out to be Kim Chi flavored. I haven't tried them yet. I'm kind of scared to.
I LIKE Kim Chi--but the idea of spicy cabbage flavored noodles make me a bit--nervous.
but they were cheap! (50 cents a bowl!)
And so its war, on this beautiful spring night, where the harsh New Jersey winter has finally settled down to become a lamb. My window is open, and the air feels refreshing as I breath it in. There are still some children playing in the street, I can hear them laughing as they shoot hoops.
