It's a beautiful day here in Portlandia. It's sunny and blue and 63 degrees. I love being able to open my blinds and have the sun shine in My windows mostly face east so I only get the morning sun, but it's still bright and beautiful in the afternoon.
I'm going to read in the park today in about an hour. Yeah, it's going to have gotten a bit chilly, but I don't care. I love being out in the sun.
I've given up on Quicksilver and moved on to The Name of the Rose. I just couldn't handle Quicksilver. I heard it got a little slow around page 200, but now I'm up to like, 350 and it's still slow. I just can't do it anymore. The Name of the Rose is awesome, though. I started it a long time ago, after I read Foucault's Pendulum in high school, but for some reason didn't get very far though it. I like it now, though, and it's fun to picture Sean Connery and Christian Slater as the monks.
I'm feeling better now that it's sunny more often. I think I'm going to take the math subject GRE on April 2nd, but I have to sign up by Friday and that makes me nervous. I hope I don't totally bomb it again and have to take it *yet again* in November.
So last Tuesday I went out with dunx and KtKate for a really super tasty and expensive dinner. We got all dressed up, because it's fun and we were going someplace nice, and there were people there in jeans totally ruining my dining experience. I should write a book on how to overdress in the pacific northwest. Wait, no, all I have to say is summed up in one sentence: if you wear something nicer than jeans, you've already put in too much effort. I'm not particularly classy, but at least I know it.
Oh, and in case you don't read it every day already, here is a link to the Best Dinosaur Comics Ever.
