So, as many of you see, today is my birthday. Yes, my actual birthday. April fourth. 4/4. My real, really, real, for reals birthday.
No, I'm not 30, I'm sorry.
Anyway, the purpose of this entry is to talk about SG.
When I first encountered SG in December of 2001 I was amazed. I was amazed at what they were doing with pornography. Okay, call it art, call it erotica, call it a fucking beer garden, but whatever you call it the end result is the same: SG brings us beautiful women, and beautiful pictures of these beautiful women, but those pictures aren't all SG is, not by a LONG shot. SG brings us the beautiful women themselves, not just the pictures.. We get a look into their lives, a look into their personalities, into what they do, into who they are. Instead of just seeing their bodies we see them. The SGs, these women, aren't just presented as sexy bodies to be considered pornographic. SGs have every aspect of themselves out on display for erotic consumption. The entire woman is presented as sexy, rather than simply the shape of their body. In addition, SGs aren't presented only as sexual beings. but real, honest people, people with lives, friends, interestes, people who have jobs and sometimes struggle to make ends meet, just like everyone else, and it's these real women, these wonderful, naked (physically and mentally) human beings who are attractive. It's not just their bodies, and it's not that their minds are set on sex. They are people, and some people can be very, very sexy.
That's what makes SG stand alone in the pornography business: they show that entire people, as themselves, are pornographic beings. It isn't just their bodies that are sexy. It is everything about them.
I hope that made sense.
I hope I have done my SG sisters justice with my rambling, incoherent explanation of what I believe makes SG a Good Thing. I know a lot of guys, who, when they want to jerk off, they have to look at porno that objectifies women, that turns them into cum dumpters, things, shapes that are only meant to gratify men. This is all fine and good if it's kept to fantasy, but many men actually take this view of women into the real world, beyond their sexual fantasies, treating actual women as objects, which I think it unhealthy. SG, I believe, counters this unhealthy view of women, presenting the entire woman as sexy, stimulating the mind, as well as the body, of the porn consumer. Women aren't sexy because they are things. Women are sexy because they are people, and SG perpetuates this wonderfully healthy view of women.
I say thee, yay, SG.
Yay.
Happy Birthday to me!
