So on Wednesday night I went out with a friend of mine from Portland who is visiting her parents nearby for a while; I think I might have made a pass at the bartender when we were at the bar, but whatever. I'm sure it happens to him a lot, because he is quite attractive. When I woke up in the morning my eye hurt. I figured there was something in there and that my eye could take care of itself because that happens sometimes. Well, when I woke up a few hours later it hurt more. After getting my friend on her way, eating, doing some sitting around (ow, it hurts), my brother takes me to the emergency room. After walking around the entire hospital we find it, and I go to check in (we actually had to walk through a metal detector). "What's up?" "I want to see a doctor because my eye really hurts." "Which eye?" "This one," I say, pointing to my red, swollen, crying eyeball, and thinking, do they BOTH look that bad? Finally I get to see a doctor. He didn't really like my brother and I that much, I think because we kept cracking wise and he was embarrassed about not being able to work a certain piece of equipment. Finally, he puts those yellow UV eyedrops in my eye, the ones with the local anesthetic, the ones I've been waiting hours to get put into my hurty eyeball, and I tell him that it's okay, I can go home now, but I don't think he thought it was that funny. So yeah, as I thought, I have a scratch on my cornea. They sent me home with this ointment I have to put in my eye fairly regularly, and I can't realy see very well because it's in fucking vaseline or some crap. They wouldn't let me have any more yellow eyedrops. I wanted to ask the doctor about certain pieces of equipment and if I could maybe have some morphine, just for fun, but he seemed so unhappy with having to deal with us that we left without ever knowing what the "gain" knob did, or what was in the cool old brown briefcase, or what the hell that piece of promotional material was actually for.
So that's what happened to me yesterday. My eye and head hurt for a long time, and my eye watered so much that my nose got really stuffed up so I felt like I was sick for much of the day. That was pretty lame.
I have to pay the internet bill, and my phone bill. I haven't bought anyone christmas presents. Why do so many of the people I enjoy spending time with have to live so damn far away? I think UnnecessaryZ might be the closest, clocking in at about 500 miles (about 7 hours), then there's mk700c at around 700 miles (same as Memphis, or about 9-10 hours, depending on how many times I have to stop), dunx is 1,200 miles away, which is 16 hours, and takes me two days. I'm not even going to say anything about the west coast; it's just too depressing. Suffice to say, I miss a lot of people who I need to call. You know who you are.
I hate wakin' up
means I have to die again tonight
