I was in the process of writing this big long entry addressing the recent drama with the site, accusations of mistreating the models and violating contracts, accusations that Sean is a misogynistic asshole who is the sole owner of SG (everyone knows Sean hates men and women equally, he just never gets a chance to be mean to men because he's surrounded by beautiful women all day), people saying Missy is just a figurehead when she really works just as hard, if not harder, than anyone else who does anything for the site, you know, all that crap. One thing I really enjoyed was people saying Sean is a right-wing freakshow because he said islamic societies were totally backwards or something like that... you know, any society that treats their women like children or animals, including not letting them out of the house unless accompanied by a male family member, not letting them get any real education to speak of and not letting them pursue any occupation they might desire, makes them cover themselves from head to toe (lest men see them and can't stop themselves from thinking about sex... wait, doesn't this seem like a problem with the men and not the women...?) and doesn't tolerate other religions seems a little backwards to me. Oh shit, now I'm a nazi. But yeah, don't get a membership to SG because ALL of your money will go into Sean's pockets because he is the sole owner of SG and makes all the decisions and doesn't pay anyone on his staff a decent salary. Really, is there anyone here that didn't know Sean owned (at least in part) the site? Gah. People are so weird. Oh yeah, and he beats us, too.
Anyway, I had this big long entry, but fuck it. If people are going to believe the weird shit that a few former SGs are saying and not look at the fact that there are hundreds of us who have never been mistreated in any way, love the site, do not feel like we're being degraded or exploited because we knew exactly what we were getting into when we signed on (you know, because of the contracts and whatnot that we were allowed to read before accepting), have always been paid in a timely fashion the amount agreed upon prior to shooting and aren't necessarily attention whoring primadonnas, then they can go fuck themselves. I don't want their gullible asses here anyway. People are always ready to believe the worst about others. Whatever.
So yeah, it's pretty cold here. The bass playing is going well, there's no longer a big pile of my clothes in the kitchen, the band I'm in is going to be playing some Fetchin' Bones covers for a Halloween 80s cover show on Sunday and a couple nights ago my brother made some really awesome black bean soup. Things are going okay.
Also, I like how I got 82 comments on my last journal entry, which was a test of the email updating feature. Nice job, guys. It was actually pretty funny to read what some of you wrote, wondering exactly how deep I was being and such.
I hope you all have a fun weekend with lots of dressing up, and not just wearing stuff that looks cool, but dressing up AS something. I find that one of the problems a lot of people have with Halloween is that they just put on something they think looks sexy or go out in their underwear and declare themselves to be costumed. What are you dressed up as, yourself in your undies? Yeah, real creative. Me, I'm going to be a "nurse". Next week will be "post pictures of how awesome you and your friends all looked this weekend" at my journal, so don't start doing it quite yet, okay?

I know I said next week, but I liked this picture so much I just couldn't wait. Because I wore my nurse costume on Friday (someone asked if I was a Red Cross dominatrix, which I thought was awesome) I didn't want to wear it tonight, Saturday, so I did the ol' vampire standby. Here's a picture of me from after the show I went to with StackedUpXXII.

Are the intros to your sets new? I'd never noticed them before and they are great - especially the Fly one. I'm intrigued about how you'd work the Iliad into a photoshoot... or Achilles... or deceitful hearts. I wait with bated breath.
Actually I saw a phenomenal production of "Iphigenia at Aulis" (Aeschylus?) a year or two ago. They had Achilles played by a skinny, ever-so-slightly camp man, skirting around matters without being explicit. An enjoyably bleak experience - we came out of the theatre feeling absolutely emotionally blasted and raw... highly recommended if you get the chance...
