So, I realized today that since losing my job in March I have actually lost about 10 lbs. I suppose that goes to show that while I was working there I was really unhappy. I guess being fired for doing absolutely nothing wrong does have it's upside. Well, on my release papers my district manager actually first checked that I had removed store property without permission, as if I STOLE something! Completely insulting. I told him that was BS and he was like "Oh, um, I guess i checked the wrong box." He scribbled his check mark out and checked Unsatisfactory performance saying I was being fired due to my inability to make my sales goal in February. However, no one in my store made their sales goals in February because PA had a bunch of blizzards that month and sales were down in my region all together so I claimed that wasn't a legitimate reason to fired me. Then he said well I missed my yearly sales goal from 2009, which I did but by less than 1%! Then he claimed it was also due to me missing a sales meeting in January. Well, I missed it cause I was visiting my brother before he shipped out for Iraq AND I had been approved for my leave over a month ahead of time, even before he scheduled the meeting!! I reported him to HR and HR sided that I had good work performance and there was no proof I wasn't doing my job well but due my friend the manager of the store and my regional manager not putting up a fuss and signing my papers they couldn't do anything about it?! But they did say they would investigate into the district managers behavior and they approvde me for unemployment.
The guy was a horrible boss, never helped any of his employees, never did his job right, regularly made homosexual jokes in front of a male employee that happened to be gay (but the employee had never told him he was) and made comments about female customers' appearance and dress. It was just one BIG mess!! I was going to leave that job sooner of later.
