Did I join this site to talk about existential quandary, political philosophy, or historical relevance?
Fuck no!
I joined because I'm hypersexual, heterosexual, and horny all the time! I joined because I keep my perversion to myself and require an outlet. I joined because I love beautiful women and would like a place where compliments are not only accepted, but expected. I joined also because I have a passion for entertainment, in all its marvelous forms.
But, here, specifically?
Oh, where to begin?...
How about some pointers from someone who has studied a bit in this industry and others?
So, I direct my remaining blog towards the Hopeful models and, like myself, photographers:
1. Presence speaks bounds. Personally and professionally. When you are on set or location, it can be very challenging at times to keep focus, energy and composure. This also includes timeliness. Failure is always an option. So, of course, #1 suggestion would be to prepare yourself for worse-case scenarios so that you can maintain professionalism and personality points with your fellow professionals so that they know they can always call on you. (Working in a networking profession silenty demands it, most of the time)
2. Communication is key. People have different points of reference and understanding. So, coming in with an open-arms perspective and demeanor will almost immediately put people at ease when working with you. If you convey your thoughts openly and honestly, and so do they, you have the perfect ingredients for collaboration and potential. Other environments may not provide such opportunities, which will require your attention. So, keeping those future-thinking business-practices in mind can help you maintain composure when others aren't so 'on the ball'.
3. Not finally, just also very important, please come prepared. Have numerous ideas about what you want. Do you have multiple outfits? Do you want different emotional tones? Did you do your homework and have come prepared? Then I want to work with you! Let's talk colors, emotions, shots lists, forms of lighting, depth of focus...
Just bring your A-game. I will, too.
You want a good shoot?
Well, I've given you some good pointers to start.
If you want more... I would suggest studying how preproduction is roughly 70% of the overall process.
