I'm finally done with most of my school stuff and am slowly getting caught up on everyone's journals. I missed you guys!

So. I'm basically kind of dating the girl I wanted to date.

But, as I suspected, she is a republican. The only gay republican in Portland, and I somehow find her.

Now, her republicanism is really not a problem, in the sense that I agree with much of what the republican party stands for and I have friends of all political leanings. In fact, I have a lot more respect for an informed republican than I do an ignorant democrat or green, you know?

But the thing is, I think the economy depends, first and foremost, on protecting our natural resources, superior education, and the health of our citizens.

Basically, although republicans and I share some opinions, our values are different.

So how can I really get close to someone who disagrees with me on pretty much every non-personal issue in the world?
