Christ my legs are aching. it was probably a bad idea to work three days in a row, and lift weights, and go cycling. My legs hate me. HATE ME!!
The manager didn't show up for about 3 hours today. No phone call to let us know he would be late, no messages, just didn't come in till about noon. We got by alright, though. Aside from my legs, it was not so bad. I got to hear the Joker on the radio, which immediately cheered me up and put a smile on my face. Erin had one of her days off, which sucked, but we're going to first thursday tonight with nathan, so it balances out, I suppose.
I've got a free pass to go see the new Cillian Murphy film "Red Eye". The pass is for two, so if anyone wants to go with me, write a 500 word paragraph about why I should take you. Cillian Murphy being so hot he makes you cream yourself is an acceptable answer.
The manager seems to be a bit bewildered by me. Aside from coming in early, which never happens, apparently, I also bring my own broom from home because the broom at work is used up and shitty. I also bring oven mits to carry the burning hot pans, rather than just using a bunch napkins. He doesn't understand this behavior, this "initiative".
The thing that probably sucks the worst about busing and washing is that your stuck in between waitress and cook. Cooks are never seen, but they get paid better because they require (marginally) more skill. Waitresses get paid less but they make up for it in tips. Busboys/dishwashers make what the waitresses, but without the tips. In my grandfather's restaurant, the waitresses would tip the busboys for clearing the tables fast and getting the dishes out, shit like that. That doesn't seem to happen anymore, and it's a damn shame. So if there are any waitresses out there, tip your bussers and dishwashers, but only if they earn it. Tips will go a long way in the whole restaurant dynamic.

I think your inititive is admirable.
Shitty brooms are almost as bad as jamming staplers.
Hope you're well.
