I've returned from my Thanksgiving break. Spending time with my brother and nephew made me wish they lived in the States so I could visit them more often. My brother has two kids and I haven't even met the younger one, and he's two years old. I played a lot of monopoly with my nephew; he's six and so far he's only played monopoly jr., but he took to the adult version very quickly. It was fun trying to explain concepts like "trade", "deed", and "bankruptcy" to him. I don't think he understood everything, but he still played very well. Actually, he was kicking my ass most of the time.

My friend and his family went to Florida for a wedding so I house sat for them, which worked out for everybody because my brother and nephew stayed in my room at our house. I got to finish reading American Psycho, and I wasn't impressed. I thought it would be more shocking and disgusting, and it wasn't. It didn't bother me at all. Maybe I'm just a bad person. Who knows?

My girlfriend is a fluent French speaker, and I had editions of The Stranger and The Plague in French at my house, so I brought them up to Austin for her. Before we each left for our respective families, we had slept together for five consecutive nights, which is quite a lot considering we live about 20 miles apart and it's quite an inconvenience for both of us. It felt weird sleeping alone. I'm looking forward to having her back on Sunday.
