Hello SG Land,
I thought i'd write a little blog to keep you all updated on my adventures in Japan!
As you all can probably tell, I've been obsessed with Studio Ghibli since I was a kid, and yesterday, I finally got to visit the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka for my birthday! I watched my first movie over 10 years ago, and it was My Neighbour Totoro that made me need to watch all the other movies due to their beautiful animation.
I highly recommend you watch a Ghibli movie if you haven't, the scenery is just beautiful.
After visiting the museum, we got some lunch nearby and some vegan donuts! We then headed back to our hotel which was so lovely due to the fact we've been staying in pretty traditional air bnb's for our whole trip. The houses have been gorgeous and given us such an awesome insight to Japanese living, but my back definitely suffered after sleeping on a tatami floor for half of the trip!
(by the way, our first hotel had a GODZILLA HEAD on the roof)
After relaxing at the hotel for a bit, we went on an adventure to find some hilarious gachapons! For those of you that aren't aware, Tokyo is packed with so many of these little toy coin machines, almost every store will have a few!
We were lucky enough to find what we were looking for... which was....
CAT HATS!!!
I ended up with 2 onion hats, a tomato hat, a white raddish hat and a rillikuma hat! My cat is definitely going to be very stylish, although I'm pretty devestated I couldn't get the corn one!
We then headed out to dinner at a restauraunt in Jiyugaoko called T's Restaraunt, which is the BEST vegan meal I have ever eaten in my life! (there was vegan creme brulee and I died)
After dinner, my partner and I met up with @mila and her partner, to grab a few drinks and celebrate some more.
I had the most amazing day, and feel so lucky to be in a new country celebrating my birthday with some of my favourite people.
