Hello lovelies!
As always behind on the blog homework, tonight I thought it would be fun to write about something a little more light hearted - travel!
I’m currently working my butt off to save up for..
JAPAN
Ever since I was a little girl this country has always fascinated me, and if you can’t tell by my tattoos, I’m a HUGE studio ghibli fan.
It’s been years now that I’ve been telling myself that I need to go, so I’ve finally made a decision that as soon as I hit my first savings goal, I’m purchasing tickets no matter what. I feel like I was always constantly waiting around for a friend to come with me, or an ex boyfriend to save also, but I’ve finally built the courage to go by myself if needed, after travelling in the UK last year by myself and thoroughly enjoying my own company, strangely enough.
I’ve already written up a big expenses list, and (of course) my huge to-do list.
Although there are many fun experiences that draw me to japan, (Studio Ghibli museum, Disney Land etc) I’m really interested in experiencing the culture over there. my top five must do’s are as follows (in no particular order):
Studio Ghibli Museum
This is definitely a must for me while I’m in the same city. I’ve been told to even book tickets for the museum before booking flights as that is how often it can get booked out!
Mt Fuji
I honestly don’t even think this one needs an explanation
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
This is one of Japans most distinctive shrines and I think the experience would definitely be worth it.
Arashiyama Babmboo Grove
The Bamboo forest of Arashiyama looks like it’s straight from a fairy tale
Stay in a traditional Ryokan
A ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn. They often feature the traditional Japanese guest rooms, unlike any western style hotel.
OH AND THE HEDGEHOG CAFE. I CAN’T FORGET THE HEDGEHOG CAFE GUYS. Some other activities I definitely want to do is go to Akihabara (Electric Town), Harajuku (district of Shibuya in Tokyo) - which also features the famous Shibuya crossing, and the robot cafe of course.
Have any of you been to Japan before? Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka are the main destinations I want to visit. Where would you go?
Lots of love,
Akiramai
p.s.
Yes, I said a hedgehog cafe.
