Very close indeed. I've heard that they kept the setting in 1985. I'll be really pissed if they downplay the Cold War theme and sanitize Rorschach. Like most great comics, it would fair better as a miniseries of about 10 episodes or so.

I know we haven't talked in forever. I caught "Iron Man" and "The Dark Knight". Both were AWESOME!
