Aaaaaahhhh, updating.
Its been a while, yes?
I've switched over to a new schedule at work. The new job is Grocery stocking, and honestly its a humongo shitload better than cashiering. A.) I don't have to stand in one place all day, B.) I am learning how to do things that would be valuable for getting other jobs, like ordering and dealing with distributors, C.) I don't have to deal with as many bitchy customers, and finally D.) My new supervisor is so much better of a person that my previous supervisor who was a malevolent power tripping manipulative bitch. Damn am i happy to be out of that situation. You'd think working at a Co-op everything would be copacetic....but no there are definitely some assholes and psychobitches there too, just like any other place of work. Anyhoo, the new schedule is not so great. I work Thursday through Monday, which means my weekend is Tuesday Wednesday and i don't have any days off together with Greg. Hopefully this doesn't put too much strain on our relationship, but seeing as we live together i think it will be alright. Also on my days off i have been biking with Greg to work, which is a fairly hefty bike ride....an excuse to spend more time with him, and not a bad workout either.
Anyway, i never realized how physically demanding being a grocery person would be, but if i can manage to get a workout at work then why the hell not! And even with lifting 50 pound bags of grain my back still hurts a lot less than standing in one place cashiering all day. Hmmmm.
I have been sort of peopled out lately, hence why i don't post in here or respond to comments often. I have been spending as much time as possible with the Gregster. Also, my roomie Kristana and i have been hanging out and talking and watching movies and whatnot. She's a great girl, and funny too. Today i am going to hang out sometime in the afternoon with my old high school friend Hannah who is visiting for the summer, i think we will end up having a picnic somewhere. Normally she lives and goes to college in England, but is working renovating her mom's house this summer. Other than that i haven't been around people as much since i have switched jobs, but i don't know, sometimes i just don't have energy for things.
Other fun stuff lately: I have picked up some new CDs recently and i am starting on making people mix tapes. Yay! I haven't done this for years. Hey if any of you guys are interested in swapping mix tapes just drop me a line. I am too technophobic and i haven't learned to do mix CDs on our computer yet, so tapes it is for the time being,
I went to the yarn shop on Monday, and damn, i knew there was a reason i hadn't been going there so often. That place really parts me with my money, seriously. I got some awesome silk yarn called Silk Garden by Noro. I think i am going to make another scarf for myself. Thats all i know how to make. I seriously need to do some experimenting and learn how to make hats or mittens or sweaters or SOMETHING. Sometimes I just like having my hands busy i think, whereas with some people its more about the execution of a pattern or trying difficult stitches. I know other stitches than garter stitch, but usually i am perfectly happy with just garter stitch knitted on massive needles so it goes by quickly and its all just about the yarn.
Greg and i are going to be at the Oregon Country Fair this year. He has never gone before. If you live anywhere near Eugene, YOU SHOULD GO!!! Seriously, i mean i hope Greg enjoys it, but i know i will. Its wacky and a bit hippyish, so hopefully Greg doesn't get too hippied out. I am fairly used to hippies, i work at a co-operative grocery after all. Anyway, the Oregon Country fair mostly consists of food, arts and craft vendors, lots of music, people in costumes, and parades. It should be fun. I haven't been to the fair in about 5 or 6 years. Back then i was a big old stoner, and now i am not at all, so hopefully i can still enjoy it in a clear headed state. To give you an idea of what the fair is like.....the first year i went the first thing i saw was a couple of dudes on stilts dresses like fried eggs that proclaimed they were the "ghosts of eggs past" and were generally badmouthing people in a teasing sort of way as people filed in through the entry gates. Fun times, fun times. Oh did i mention that a lot of people will be semi or fully nude? Yes, the fair is clothing optional. Greg has never been in this type of environment. I am curious to see what he thinks of it.
Okay you guys, lots o love......take care.
