Oooh, i am tired, but feeling much better today.
Thanks everyone for your comments advice and sympathy, yesterday was a shit day and it really helped to read you r relies. Thanks! Since then i have found out that the guy basically hits on every young or youngish looking female though, so i m a little less sure of what to do. Like if it was someone who was just harrassing me i could be like "snap out of it bitch!" but since he has been hitting on everyone (apparently even a teenage girl who was with her father, for god sakes) i have a little bit less hope that he will understand what i am trying to say to him when i tell him off. Old dog, new tricks, and all.
Anyway, last night my friend Katy, gr3g and i went to the Alladin in Portland to see the Magnetic Fields. Actually, first we went to the Pied Cow for delicious food. I felt fairly much better at this point so i was in that phase after being sick to you stomach where you are just abso-fucking-lutely ravenous, I ate soooooo much....a hummous and veggie platter with pita bread ans a delicious cake slice for dessert (called Try This if You Dare). Then we drove down to the Alladin and saw the Magnetic Fields. It was a really mellow, sit-down type show but it was really good. I had never seen Stephin Merritt before, i think there are very few pictures of him out there. His voice is really awesome, kind of cheesy, but he has a really wide range and it makes me feel all emotional for some reason. The lyrics are great. So yeah, if you haven't heard Magnetic Fields yet, then this is my plug for them. By the end of the show i was all sleepy because i felt like i had be sung lullubies for an hour....i slept the entire car ride to Corvallis. Ahhhh.
This morning i made pancakes which were really good. A buttermilk mix into which i put chocolate sprinkles, cinnamon, vanilla, and milk. Then I put Appelstroop between the two pancakes and maple syrup on the top, sort of a sweet gooey pancake sandwich. Appelstroop is a Dutch creation I have only been able to find in import stores....my father hooked me on the stuff. It is apple syrup that has been slowly reduced and reduced until it is a dark brown, almost black color, with the thich consistency of soft pliable caramel or glue....it tastes appley but also malty and carmely. It is so good....it just looks gorss like tar or something. Similar in pronunciation are the Dutch words "Appel Stroop" and the words "Aape Strond," the second one which means "ape shit" .........which is what we always called it for fun when i was little.....strange though, huh? My family is odd....not in a bad way.....
Well, two days more of weekend. I am working on a crafty type project but right now it is really free form. I cutting apart black tshirts i bought from goodwill and sewing them back together in a sheet.........same concept as the bodice part of my evil toothfairy dress but tinier pieces. Since the top part of the toothfairy dress didn't work out as well as i would have liked i am taking it apart and using it for this project also. I don't know what i am going to do with the sheet of fabric that is forming yet. Either i will make a balanket, a dress, or a couple of tshirts, but i don't know yet.
OK, hope everyone is doing ok, i am going to go nap a little, because i can......then i am going to pick up my bonus check, woooo! Which will mostly need to be spent on bills, boooo.....
