Just got back from Portland semi-late last night. It was pretty fun, if not lazy. We had no money so we hardly left my friends house, but that was ok. You know i feel so comfortable in Portland. It is so safe-feeling even if it isn't quite all the time. Ramble ramble....anyhoo, it was a nice visit. Hopefully the little money i did spend on food and stuff didn't put me in the red in my bank accunt. Hopefully my rent check will go through ok. If not then this is the second month that will have happened. Rrrrrg.
Anyway, fun stuff on the trip: my friend Laura and i talked about all the stuff we need to get going on during the car ride up. Ideas and plans were put forth towards an awesome Halloween party and the creation of a Stitch and Bitch. We arrived in Portland to meet Elizabeth who was happy to see us but tired from sorting through all her stuff for a garage sale the next day. We just hung out for a little bit at her house. Then we went to go hike in Forrest park to the Witches castle which i had never seen. It wasn't super impressive, but it was pretty and cool. We decided to hike further up to Pittock mansion....up there we could just ever so barely see Mount Saint Helens. There was no smoke cloud to be seen. I think that dissapointed us for some reason. Looked at the view and the nice but small gardens, and then hiked all the way back down because the sun was close to setting. It got dark on the way down and i amused myself (but probably not my friends) by singing somewhat badly). When we got back to the car we went to buy spaghetti supplies and breakfasty stuff. At Food Front I found vegan marshmallows ....they are good but weird.... chewier than normal marshmallows! We went back to beths house and made an improvised sauce with carrots and kale in it and though we had been talking about going out dancing we were too tired so the tree of us just talked and had a little bit of wine at Beth's house. I can't really relate all of what we talked about because it would be boring anyway, but i thought the funniest thing was that even though we were specifically having a "girls night" away from our boyfriends we all ended up talking about them a lot. Silly. All three of us are in really good relationships right now, which hasn't ever happened before at the same time, i don't think.
Anyway, the next day was pretty uneventful. But i had fun. These two ladies are both in some ways so different from me but i have been able to maintain friendships with them since highschool which impresses me since highschool was so different from life in the real world....like we needed eachother somehow more then than we do now. We are all going in different directions and some of us may travel or move away which is alright because i will still try to keep contact with them and hear their stories and opinions.
Blah. Too much etc here. By the way, pictures are up of the comic con! See what a big dork i am! I am pictures #3, 6, in the background of 9, 11 (wooo!), and 14..........and you can also tell in picture #9 that greg has a camera surgically implanted on his face, the latest in cyborg technology. I don't know, now all you guys have a vague idea of how i look. I don't know what all of you look like though, show me pictures!
