Lesseehere....
I didn't end up taking any pictures of the Renaissace faire yesterdays. Oh well. It was still sort of fun, but it had been a few years since i last went and i forgot how dumb it was in some ways. Like how unconvincing it is as a re-enactment. And how so few of the vendors actually sell anything near authentic renaissance stuff. There were a few cool booths though. One had handmade swords of damascus steel that were really really beautiful, another one had really hot handmade leather corsets and coats and doublets and bracers and etc. out of leather, a woman who was spinning wool on a pedal spinning wheel, and a lady who hade made gorgeous floor length coats of brocades and tapestry type materials. But it is all centered around spending money. I did have fun people watching though. the jousts were not as good as it had been at the Philomath location. There was not really good seating, just a lumpy hillside to sit on w/ no acoustics. Oh well.
After the faire i went with gr3g and my friend Patric to the goth industrial night in Portland, sort of as a birthday present to patric since he just recently turned 21......the Rabbit Hole was pretty nice in a divey sort of way. It was small and dark (and in a shanghai tunnel after all), and it was sort of perfect for a goth night. The music mix wasn't the most amazing ever, but i was enjoying dancing like a total dork. Really amusing (at least to me) highlights of me being a dork that evening: Smiled at a pretty redhaired goth girl, who then came up to me and said "Oh, wait, i thought i knew you since you smiled at me." ....a rare occurence perhaps? ....and also when the bartender asked me if i wanted beer or water as a chaser fro my Jager and i kept saying "what?!?" because the concept of needing a chaser didn't make sense to me. I like Jager. It is like liquid alchoholic cookie. After a while some of patrics friends came by but weren't into dancing so they decided to go barhopping, specifically the lesbian bars, and somehow managed to drag patric along, poor guy, so he can watch them flirt and make out with with girls who would never want him. So Gr3g drove us, exhausted, back home. Didn't take any pictures at the club either.
Today was uneventful....worked for the first time on a Sunday in a long time. my work schedule is being completely rearanged but not as badly as my supervisor had originally said it would be. Tomorrow i wake up at 6 so i don't know why i am not in bed already......I think i am quickly becoming addicted to this whole journal thing. I like being able to read other peoples comments and opinions about things.
Other than that, i just need to get my ass in gear and get some necessary stuff done, like cleaning thoroughly around the house. It is so messy in here. I want to have a Halloween party but there is still just so much crap everywhere, and i think the carpet needs a good cleaning too......i wish everything would clean itself, since it seems like such a waste of time to me. But then again if you don't clean logn enough it starts to impair your ability to do other things....like how can i work on a sewing project if i can't find any of my 8 or 9 pairs of scissors? But the cleaning, oh the horror, i hate it! I need to hire a dominatrix just to make me clean, to whip me until i do or something.
This is probably way too much information....i just got caught up in typing.
And finally, a question or two: What do you want to be for Halloween? Do you have any plans for Halloween?
Over and Out,
