I'm very very sorry about gr3g getting laid off. I've been laid off before and I know all about the major crappyness it leads too. What a shitty way to finish up a week!!!
I have a few credit card maxed out on yarn...so if I can get a credit card and do that...you can buy a tattoo with it! I want a knitting motif on each arm..like a bracelet. In my head it looks like the beginnings of sleeves of a sweater, with the ends unraveling a little. And the one i wanted forver and ever is a bat across my back, between my shoulder blades. I want a detailed bat, like in those 19th century diagrams of wildlife. I have loved bats ever since I was a child, so it seems very natural to want one with me all the time. I also want a jack o' lantern on one of my shoulders...and about a billion other things. I'm like you...lots of ideas...but bare skin thus far. Now if only i could win the lottery.
We're going to Portland next week, and I'm so clueless what i'm supposed to pack. When we went to visit last October they were having like some freak cold spell, so this time we're like, is it cold, is it hot...what is it? I think we're going to Crater Lake and stuff while there, and i'm assuming it will be cold. ARGH! I hate packing...I'm such a doofus!
Mmmmm...cookies. I love cookies. I get these awesome vegan ones at Whole Foods...mm...I could go for one right now. Stupid work!!
I hope your weekend is good, even with the news and all!
The whole laid off thing is treally starting to sink in. In two weeks gr3g will be on unemployment and foodstamps again, hopefully it is enough to eat and pay rent.....otherwise i suppose it is dumpster diving time again (haven't really *needed* to do that for a while). I doubt i will get saddled with all the rent, but last time when i did there wasn't enough money left for food. I hate that feeling utterly. Like, if i was working on a farm like some of my friends do i would be making shit for maney, but i would have tons of food. Ahhhrg! I can't dwell on this right now.
The knitting tattoo idea is really cool! I can honestly say i have never seen anything like that before. It is something specific to your hobbies which is cool. I can't really think of anything like that.....but mostly i am just attracted to art from books that i have, like Where the Wild Things Are and other kids books. Also there is this medieval print type tattoo that is a triangle formation of birds, i want it just above my ass crack in the middle of that "butterfly" muscle formation. Yay, crack enhancement! I am totally tempted to max out a credit card. Ahrg. I feel like i need to wait until i can tell how poor Greg and i are going to be.
Packing for Portland next week? Its always so confusing....I'd go for layered, because it will probably will be could but maybe warm enough in the afternoons that you can waer a t shirt. Unless the rain starts already. Oregon weather is rad. And I love Portland. There is so much good culture there. Do you like old style video games? I don't know if you have time for such things, but if you get a chance go to Ground Kontrol because they are awesome! Personally i just play Tetris all the time because for some reason i am a sucker like that for repetitive puzzle like, sometimes incremental speed games (tetris, dr mario, popcap games in general, etc...), and i just end up playing that the whole time while i am there, listening to the rad tunes while greg runs around playing everything! The guy who owns the place has fun taste in music. He plays a lot of "old school" electronic and old sounding stuff (mixed in with a bunch of totally random other styles of music), which is so great while playing games. I love Portland. I would like to live there eventually. Greg doesn't like it as much as me, and we were staying in Corvallis because of his job. Maybe that will change now! Who knows. The hunt begins.
Oh, and here are some awesome things in Portland that i haven't got a chance to go to yet.... Nocturnal's Craft Night which i have heard is really fun...i mean come on, what is more rawk than drinking and knitting? Hilarity ensues! Also Portland has a local chapter of The Church of Craft which sounds funny and interesting to me because they are basically an ordained church that practices crafting! awesome!
So anyway, thanks for writing back and adding me as your friend! AWWW, warm squishies!
Take care....more later!
