Today felt like it dragged its ass through broken glass. That's not saying it was a bad day; it just felt longer than usual.
I've been working like crazy putting the framework in place for a large online art gallery. The client is quite dottery and insisting on being able to do everything himself once the site is up. That's not a problem. I gave him a ridiculously good price on the site when we first talked, just so I could have the extra cash over Christmas. Unfortunately his inability to grasp even relatively simple concepts has meant I've had to add a whole new level of idiot proofing on the administration framework. I feel like I'm burning out. I've been coding for the last 18 hours straight. No stops other than to pee and read my eldest boy his night time story. I'm done with it. Ugh. The good news is that it's almost done. I should be able to get him to sign off by Wednesday and pay the remaining 50% that's owing. Sweet![smile](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/smile.0d0a8d99a741.gif)
My mum gets here on Thursday. I'm looking forward to seeing her, but she has this habit of sneaking her head around my office door in the wee hours of the morning with a frowny face. She doesn't say anything, she just makes me feel guilty for being up late working. I know it's just her worrying, but she can worry in her bed without ruining my groove. LOL.
She also has the habit of just walking into our bedroom at inopportune times. I'm too old to have to worry about my mother walking in on me when I'm buried nut deep in my wife :/
What else? Well, it's officially Monday, as of 10 minutes ago, and the start of a new week. I'll spend the rest of the week cleaning up the last of my current projects, then I can start on prep work for the new year. I had a good idea to generate some more business after the Christmas break. Nothing special, just taking advantage of some vertical markets.
I want to study up on some areas I only have a basic grasp on during the break. I love training days. I've thought about going back to school, but it takes too long to progress. I can teach myself the same core content in two weeks as what I'd learn in a year of part time classes. The networking would be cool though.
I think I'll save up my work and get an early night. I was going to check out some new sets here but they'll have to wait until later today now. Good night internets![smile](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/smile.0d0a8d99a741.gif)
