I'm getting used to things not going as planned.
I'd wanted, and planned, to have yesterday and today as study days. I made a point of going to bed early the night before to ensure some extra rest. What I didn't count on was our 18 month old sleeping right through the night. He's being night weened at the moment so the early mornings have been rough. Not this time though. He slept right through so I got a fairly solid eight hour sleep and woke to strained eyes and a pounding headache. That soon evolved into a migraine of rather epic proportions.
In the afternoon I was reminded that we were going out to dinner with a friend and her new beau. I have a fair amount of trouble at being dropped into social situations if I haven't had enough lead in to convince myself that everything is cool. Straight away my anxiety levels started rising. But I bit the bullet and started getting ready to go out. That was a mistake.
I usually trim my beard in the shower stall prior to turning the water on. It contains all the whiskers and is easy to clean than the hand basin. No issues there. I stepped out and checked my blind trimming only to notice a little scruff I'd missed right in the middle of my chin. Unfortunately, I'd already removed the height guide to clean the cutter, and stepping back into the shower I was already mentally distant while trying to fire myself up for the night. I started blind stabbing at my chin again all the while thinking it was odd just how much hair was falling away from that one little spot :/
In the other bathroom my wife started laughing hysterically when I walked in and asked her what I should do to "fix" it LOL. Normally I'd just have shaved it all off but my wife very much likes it for practical reasons when we have our alone time
Crisis averted, the night wasn't too bad at all. The migraine had subsided into something far more manageable and didn't end up a foetal blob beneath the table.
Today ended up with me coding an ongoing project instead of doing my learnin's ... I'll put that down to the stubborn Scot in me that was screaming I needed two days for my study, not one. Unfortunately the rest of the week is already mapped out so there was no moving things along. Stupid head :/
I think that's about it for today. I may post later tonight if I so feel inclined.
