Well here i am once again having a break from painting in the sun, chatting with friends wacking up a huge phone bill, but its worth it. Ive recovered from the long weekend and was quite happy to chill for the evening get on with some new ideas and get some new stencils underway. Well that was the plan but i remembered that i might of promised an old school buddy that i would go and see his band play (Super Ego if you want to check them out). They are play'n tonight at the St Lenards Arms in Sunny ol Horsham.
Ive never heard them play and im not even sure what there angle is but i know my old mate could play the guitar before but im not sure how he sings so it will be interesting. The other bands supporting are a Jazz Band (dont know the name) and a Ska band (also cant remember the name).
Any way i will write down my thoughts of their performance when i return tonight if your lucky as for now i have just realised i stink and need a shower and get my shit together.
well im back now and trying to recall tonights preceadings in a sobre way (obviousley not working) as you all can probably tell im a little bit wasted (nothing new) so my spelling and grammer are more than likely off.
Any who on with the show....
i have to say i wasnt all that inpressed with pretty much the whole line up. But Super Ego went down very well, a kind of cross between Muse and Radiohead. Though they have some very wel strucured songs. Actually they came across as a real band not just the usual town bollocks you often hear in the local boosa. Some very original stuff and dispite the shite venue its was a well reseaved gig. Thought i have to say hats off to the young gentilemen as they preformed for free as it was a Tsunami fundraser. And the other bands took longer than they should have giving a very short set for SE, They took in all good humor and carried on and actually getting a couple of well desearved oncores. anyway there was pleantly of booze and fire poi and staff. in the parking lot to keep all the those who appreciate those things, ie me to be honest, and a crazy organiser, plus al your normal small town bollocks to keep even the biggest spoil sportt amused.
Anyway i give the and band 8/10 and the venue 4/10.
and i have to go now as im pissed as a basterd and need to pass out. GOOD NIGHT!!
