I had an obsession with succulents during the summer, but right now they are having a rough time :( some have died :( damn winter

I love succulents, except I have the opposite issue, winter time is awesome and summer in Arizona is so hot and so much sun light I have a hard time not drying/burning plants up :/ where do you live?
