Well I have finally arrived...
Yes campers, its true. I am now officially on Aussie soil. Had a wicked trip in Bali.It got off to a bit of a rough start, my visa card didn't work for the first two days and I lost my watch on my first surf. But besides that the trip was awesome.
I spent the first week in Kuta. the next time I go, I won't spend that long.Too crowded, too many tourists, and too many sellers hassling you to buy stuff.Apart from that it was good, and I ended up meeting a maniacal, but super cool bunch of Kiwi guys.
From Kuta I went too Balangan. Balangan was wicked.Natural, unspoiled, and quiet. All that Kuta is not.Much better surf too. I stayed in a traditional, but stylish Balinese bungaloo.Had two epic days here and then went too Bingin for four days.Stayed at a guest house, on the cliff, over looking the whole beach.Had a complete panoramic view of the whole area. Didn't get much in the surf department, but relaxing by the pool, taking in the scenery and large quantities of Bintang, made up for it.
After Bingin, I went back to Balangan for my last three days. I ended up catching a few good ones here, and the rest of the time, hanging out with some local Balinese guys, I had become friends with. So all in all it was very hard to leave.
Arriving in Sydney, was without its fun and games. Some how ants managed to get into my clothes bag, and when I went through customs, they quarenteened my bag. Needless to say I have no clothing till my excess baggage arrives next Thursday. My quarenteened bag I will get back in two weeks. So my first day I have spent running around getting the bare essentials. But hey thats the waylife goes sometimes, so I'll just role with it.No worries mate.
I look forward to catching up with some of the Sydney crew, at the hook up on Saturday night. As for the rest of you ganstas, I'll catch up another time.
