however I would also like to point out that the quickest way to resolve this (since as I see it the real issue is that he's talking to girls/people who you don't know that he's talking to, rather than the other thing with the comments etc) is to TALK with him about it. He probably feels uncomfortable bringing it up that he's talking to other people for one reason or another. so telling him that it makes you feel like he feels like he needs to keep secrets from you might be good.

LDRs are crazy lots of work... if communication isn't as close to 100% open as possible they're even more work... and even less worth it.

I have just known a lot of these types of girls. Being underground is a trend and personally I have never found the super model types attractive. Plus if you think about it most kids go to some type of not mainstream scene in high school out of insecurities or rejection. It is just another trend. These dress codes are just a form of vanity.
I am not so sure the majority of these girls have depth. Of course I am not so sure the majority of people have depth.
I am not trying to be mean in my answers to you, I am just being honest and I lack tact in a lot of areas. Most peoples depth only seems to extend to what you can do for them.
