They're BBAAAAACCKKK!!!!!!!!!!
To catch people up who may not know....I am a second year grad student and I've been living and working on campus all summer to help with my bills and my Master's. The freshmen moved in on Friday and the rest of the underclassmen moved in over the weekend and now they're ALL BACK.
The quiet, relatively empty campus is abuzz with activity. I used to have the gym to myself...but no more. The all-but-forgotten library is waking up. I have a feeling of excitement that is tempered with jealousy. Where did all these "pretenders" come from? I had the place to myself (not really) and now I have to contend with.....with.....THEM!!!
Being a library lurker and "worker bee." I gave 3 orientations today, showing the freshmen, who wanted to know, where everything was in the library. A tour and q&a. And oh....all the moaning and whining when someone asks the unavoidable question: "Why can't I just use Wikipedia?"
Still the best time I had was watching the freshman football team roam the campus tundra like a pack of young wolves. They've been here for a month in football camp. But they've been held in check by the athletics department. Now they have "finally" been released into the student body. You can practically smell the testosterone as they pass! It rises from every pore like visible fumes of smoldering.....mmmm .... whatever. I got "hit on" three times today. More will come tomorrow. I'm not saying there is anything special about me. At this stage of the game it is largely indiscriminate and lacking finesse. Anybody with tits and a vagina will draw the attention of these younglings. Besides, I'm not in the mood for wolf cubs right now.....but it's nice to know I could snag myself a hunky, horny boy athlete if I wanted. The freshman girls are all atwitter (literally and figuratively) and very flattered. So I'll just content myself with watching the pods of freshmen boys AND girls navigate their way through the early semester.
College has begun here. Oooo-RAH!!!

tactical:
I'd liken them to bulls (maybe dolphins due to the homoerotic behavior patterns, but certainly not wolves) but that could just because of the way I view most people

I remember those college days... thank goodness I had an older brother and a good father that taught me well before then... if not there would have been a bunch of lil me's running around. Have fun !!
